GENERALIST & SPECIALIST HF POSITIONS
The candidates fulfilling these Human Factors positions will apply psychological and physiological principles of human behaviour to the design and development of complex systems.
Do you have the following?
- A desire to be at the cutting edge of Human Sciences in the Defence, National Securities, Resources, Mining, Health and R&D industries.
- A strong knowledge base in an area such as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Usability, Ergonomics, Human Performance Modelling or Research Design that you’re dying to share with the rest of the scientific community.
- Experience in planning and conducting different kinds of research, including areas such as heuristic evaluations, mental models, literature reviews, task analyses, focus group moderation and usability testing.
- Patience for long term research initiatives, but the flexibility to do just-in-time guerilla-style research in a fast, focused and efficient manner.
- Experience in presenting sometimes complex and technical research findings and recommendations to all levels of stakeholders, from executive management to lay people.
- Above average report writing skills, with the ability to turn raw data into valuable, client-focused results and recommendations.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Information Design, Sociology or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A solid understanding of the scientific method, and how to incorporate rigor, while maintaining flexibility, into study design.
