Vincent Galea - Senior Human Factors Scientist

B.Sc., B. Applied Science (Hons), M. Science

Vincent holds a Masters Degree in Human Factors specialisig in the Human Machine Interface (HMI). Vincent's focus is on visual, memory and attention, and psychometric evaluation to enable training for expert performance.  He is an expert in tactile HMI for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in vehicular systems. Vince is currently studying with ANU to complete his PhD in Tactile/Haptic information systems. Vince also brings experience and expertise in complex data collection and analysis.

Kelly Swain - Senior Human Factors Scientist

B.Sc (Hons) Psychology, M. Forensic Psychology

Kelly has considerable practical experience in Human Factors Engineering analysis and evaluation, psychological assessment, behavioural observation and human performance optimisation. Kelly has employed a variety of Human Factors methods in support of Australian Government Agencies including project within Australian Land and Maritime Defence.

Matthew Swift - Senior Human Scientist

B.A. Psychology, B.A. (Hons), M. Work and Organisational Psychology. Registered Psychologist.

Matthew has experience both as a Human Scientist and a practicing Organisational Psychologist. He is a registered Psychologist in South Australia. Matthew's focus on stress in the workplace has led to research in workplace over-commitment and the impact on staff well-being, families and in particular children. He recently worked with Australian National Security on organizational learning.

Dr Tony Dekker - Senior Human Systems Analyst

B. Sc (Hons) Mathematics, PhD Computer Science.

Tony has worked as an academic and as an applied researcher in Singapore and Australia. Tony has spent 17 years working with Defence and National Security clients as a senior scientist with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO). Tony has extensive experience with several different kinds of organisational analysis, and has contributed to the state of the art in Social Network Analysis and Agent-Based Modelling of human behaviour. Tony has a track record in applying mathematical analysis and visualisation to human-factors data, including statistical and network-based techniques. He has also developed a number of agent-based organisational simulations for studying the effects of organisational change. Some of these simulations have allowed mixing human and artificially intelligent agent players. In collaboration with staff from RMIT University, he has developed methods for incorporating planning and other realistic behavioural activities into agent-based simulations.

Hayley Carberry - Human Systems Scientist

Sleiman Abou-Hamdan - Human Scientist

Sleiman holds a Masters degree in Psychology and is a registered Psychologist in the ACT. Sleiman has accumulated extensive research experience in qualitative and quantitative methodologies in the social and human sciences. He has undertaken research with a focus on cross cultural drivers in the workplace and the role of religiosity in an individuals self perception. Sleiman has also delivered strategy on the recruitment of Women and multi cultural groups in an Australian Government agency.

Keita Matsumato - Intern Human Scientist (2013)

Keita is interested in psychology and personal development. This interest developed during his final years of schooling when he had the opportunity to be a part of the pilot cohort for the Positive Psychology program delivered by Professor Seligman in 2009. Stefano is choosing between continuing his studies to a PhD or Masters program in Industrial and Organisational (I/O) Psychology.
